The Nigerians In Diaspora Organization (NIDO) China organized a health and wellness webinar on Saturday, 14th March 2020, at 8 pm Beijing time. The webinar focused on enlightening the participants on the actionable strategies needed to improve body and mind during this epidemic period.
The webinar featured a presentation by the guest speaker Ms. Titi Hill, an experienced counselor and a physiotherapist, a question and answer session and the closing speech by the acting president of NIDO China. The webinar covered a broad spectrum of mental health-related issues ranging from psychological, physical, and behavioral signs of stress and anxiety.
The speaker elaborated on the need to apply mindfulness in trying to recognize the state of our mental health as this will go a long way to help in bouncing back to a healthy mental state. The speaker stated that a careful assessment of our mental health could be as simple as just taking a deep breath. She went ahead to mention other ways of managing our mental wellbeing, things like proper hydration, proper nutrition, sufficient exercise, and sleep. There was also an emphasis on the need for going for counseling when one requires it.
The webinar, which lasted for sixty minutes, had sixty-five people in attendance, both Nigerians and Non-Nigerians.
The webinar ended with a vote of thanks from the acting president of Nigerians In Diaspora Organization (NIDO) China Barr. Justina Ajala, Who appreciated the guest speaker, event committee, and all the participants as she hoped that the webinar would be useful to everyone. She assured all the participants that more resourceful webinars would be organized in the future.
